Study Abroad ∈New Zealand
[1] Due to the popularity of the Lord of the Rings trilogy New Zealand is suddenly on the map of every tourist,
[2] adventurer, and student ∈ the world. Frankly, those who have been there will tell you, it’s about time. New
[3] Zealand is home to one of the most beautiful natural environments ∈ the entire world; the people are
[4] famous for their kindness and willingness to accommodate all kinds of visitors; and its relative geographic
[5] isolation has allowed it to avoid many of the problems faced by other nations today.
[6] Located to the southeast of Australia and separated from the continent by a 2,000-mile stretch of the
[7] Tasman Sea, New Zealand looks as if it is truly at the ends of the earth. However, its distant geographical
[8] location does not mean that it is ∈ any way a boring or backward place. Quite the contrary, ∈ fact: ‘Arts
[9] and culture form a lively part of New Zealand life. Traditional Maori arts can be enjoyed throughout the
[10] country, while professional theatre companies, orchestras, and opera can be found ∈ the main centres.
[11] New Zealand pop music is gaining an international reputation, and you’ll find studios of the country’s best
[12] artists throughout the country.’
[13] (…)
[14] New Zealand’s biggest city is Auckland. Around 1.3 million people live there; ‘one third of the country’s
[15] entire population.’ It is a bustling city famous for its beautiful harbor, excellent cafés and nightlife, and
[16] many professional opportunities. The quality of life enjoyed by its residents is famously high, and this
[17] attracts many students from all over the world. The University of Auckland is part of the University of New
[18] Zealand system, and offers classes that run the gamut from art to optometry to law and cover seemingly
[19] everything ∈ between.
[20] So despite its distance from the United States, spending some of your college years ∈New Zealand is
[21] sure to reward the effort. From the high quality of the education to the beauty of the natural surroundings,
[22] this is a wonderful place ∈ which to live and learn.
